Cuddlers’ Room (3 months – 12 months) & The Babblers’ (12 months – 24 months) Room:
Our baby room has a well-equipped play room with separate sleep room and changing areas. We offer various activities such as arts and crafts, music and movement, exploratory areas, messy play, heuristic play, treasure baskets, sand and water, play dough and sensory areas. We also have a home corner, book corner and construction area. The babies will regularly go out into the garden and for walks in buggies or on reins. A daily feedback sheet will be given to your child.
Movers Rooms (2 Years – 21/2 years):
Within the mover rooms, the children are expanding on skills they have already learned and with stimulating challenges and the provision of fun learning experiences delivered through play, the children will continue to grow in confidence and reach their developmental milestones. The movers will be introduced to creative and messy activities with paint, play dough, water and sand and will be given every opportunity to explore their environment, socialite, share and make friends with other children. We are aware that although the children within the movers room have moved on in development compared to the children in the smaller room, they still may need to sleep during a nursery session and staff will ensure that toddlers are able to sleep if needed.
Shakers Room (2 1/2-3 years):
Our Shaker Room is completely self- contained with playroom, sleep room & separate changing room. The room has a large, cosy story corner and the second half of the room is used for messy activities and eating. A daily feedback sheet will be provided.
Explorers Room (3-5 years):
There are two large Pre School Rooms; the first provides opportunities for working on children’s literacy and numeracy as well as a story corner where children are engaged with lots of discussion and enjoy stories and can share their ideas. This area is also used for consultation with children using a thinking tree. The room provides opportunities for getting creative using lots of different materials. The Pre School Rooms are designed around and incorporate all areas of the Curriculum for Excellence. Meals are served in the second Room at the designated eating area and children are encouraged to participate in serving the food. This room also provides areas to enjoy all arts and crafts, sand and water play etc.
